Virtual keynote technical rehearsal checklist

A free, interactive technical rehearsal checklist for virtual keynote organisers, with downloads, issue owners and a fallback plan.

Rehearse the experience, not just the connection

Run through the actual speaker handover, audience question process and close using the intended event setup. A successful connection test alone does not show that the audience can hear, read and participate.

Work through the checks

Tick only what has been checked. Record unresolved issues below. Entries remain in this page; download before refreshing or leaving.

Go / no-go review

Event name, rehearsal date and time zone.

Issue; responsible person; deadline; retest result.

Who decides whether to proceed, what the audience hears, and how the event team contacts each other.

Resolve the gaps before the event

Assign each issue to a named person and a retest time. Distinguish a cosmetic improvement from something that prevents participants accessing the keynote. Give the host a simple instruction for a delayed start or interrupted connection.

For fuller access guidance, consult the W3C accessible-event checklist. Platform features and account permissions should be checked directly with your provider.
